Name: Ilkka-Eemeli Laari
Nickname: I-E, Ile
Born: May 29th, 1989
Hometown: Siilinjärvi, Finland
Sport: Snowboarding
Started snowboarding: I started snowboarding in 1995. I was six years old when my mom bought me a snowboard and took me to a ski instructor. After a few times I was on my own.
Home away from home: I try to make myself at home wherever I am. A friend’s couch can be a home when necessary.
Greatest career achievement so far: My greatest career achievement so far has been getting back into snowboarding after two serious injuries last winter.
First trick you were really proud of: A dub haakon in a pipe. I was the first Finn to land it and I was so happy and could feel the massive amount of adrenaline going through me. Pure awesomeness.
What are you known for: I work hard and train hard. I also party hard, haha!
Your favorite web sites: Batterydrink.com, mastersofmass.blogspot.com and deviantart.com are my weapons of choice.
Your idols: Shaun White and Lady Gaga who both flipped their industries to a whole new level and continue evolving. What’s next no one knows.
Best advice you ever got: When you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you do good.
Favorite music: Everything from Skrillex to Lauri Tähkä via hard rock and metal. I’m an all-rounder so whatever makes my day is fine.
The most beautiful thing in the world: The most beautiful thing in the world is just to stop and start feeling the surroundings. Close your eyes and feel the energy everywhere around you.
Ideal snowboarding destination: My ideal snowboarding destination is the one and only, my home resort Kasurila. There I feel myself the best.
Sweet or sour: I like both!
Your biggest treasure: My biggest treasure is hidden somewhere. I have to find it. Maybe it’s a she, hopefully.
How much Battery Energy Drink do you consume during a season: A can of Stripped is needed every time I hit the gym or slopes to get me in perfect shape and to become a party monster. So, heaps of +B is consumed.
How much do you travel: Summer is the only time of the year that I’m not travelling.
Your dream travel destination: Japan, no doubt.
What do you do when you are not snowboarding: I go to the gym and do all kinds of outdoor sports. I love fresh air! I also play the guitar and photograph. And I party with my friends.
