More great news from Battery Energy Drink athletes.
Finnish Niki Blässar has won second place in the Laser Radial-class World Championships of sailing for under 21-year olds. The first place went to German Svenja Weger and Italian Claretta Tempesti sailed to the third position.
“This feels amazing. I still haven’t quite understood this. My initial goal was to be seventh” says Blässar.
The competition was held in challenging conditions. In the beginning the competitors had to stay on shore for three consecutive days because of the lack of wind.
” It was hard to spot wind directions from the water because of its color. The wind turned often and the pressure differences were great”, explains Blässar.
Next up Niki will start training for the Laser Radial European Championships for women held in Ireland in September.
We congratulate Niki for this great win and wish her the best of luck for her next championships.
