Drift Queen Krisse AaltoPublished on 14.11.2013 10:18
Battery Energy Drink’s daredevil drifter Krisse Aalto sure knows how to tame a beast. Or what do you think? Krisse’s Toyota Soarer is fine tuned to give out 500 horsepowers with the torque of 678 Newton meters. That is about 5 times more than in your average family cruiser, which means that machine likes to go sideways in endless slides.
2013 season was a rollercoaster for Krisse. Engine breaks, sudden shutdowns in the middle of race and some other technical difficulties were something Krisse was accustomed to. When those issues finally got handled in the end of summer there was nothing holding her back with the newly built car. Boosted performance helped Krisse to land herself a second place in the overall standings in FDO ProStreet series.
Krisse also tried her speed in Pro series, where drifters are going on the circuit also in pairs instead of driving solo like in ProStreet. Her first competition in Pro lead to 16th place and she was able to win the reigning Finnish Champion in the qualifiers. In her second race in Pro Krisse managed to grab 9th position in the final standings. Pretty good when she has not been able to train tandem drifting at all.
Drift queen was also noted by media. Tuning.fi magazine followed the building process of Krisse’s new car in all the issues of the year, Vauhdin Maailma magazine ran two articles titled “Drifting Kuningtar” and “Luiston Alkulähteillä” and Krisse was featured in one of the episodes of “Virittäjät” tv-show aired on MTV3 Total and SUB.
Right now Krisse is waiting to start training as soon as the snow has melted from the track. Her 2014 goal is to train more so she can take her racing to Pro series and possibly do the women’s drifting tour Queen of Europe.
