B-Squad’s Anna has made strong progression this climbing season

Year 2013 has been a great one for our climber Anna Laitinen. She has been climbing in World Cup events, World Championships and lately she challenged her rivals at the European Championships and was very close to a spot at the semifinals. “Competitions are going better and better all the time. I feel my strength is on a good level now and I just need that important experience from those big events.”

International progression aside, Anna nailed it in Finnish boulder climbing  championships and got second place there. One of her personal highlights of the season includes climbing a 8b level rope route outdoors, being the first finnish woman to climb a route of that difficulty.

Next Anna is invited to compete at the Sisu Masters 5th of October. Sisu Masters is the biggest and most prestigious climbing event in Finland with the best international climbers and the event will be streamed online for worldwide audience. Two weeks after Sisu Masters, Anna will be competing in Nordic Championships hosted by Stockholm, Sweden.

“This far I am happy with the season. Getting those points from European Championships was really great and now I will be able to start the following season amongst the first climbers. Now I can set my goals higher for the next climbing season!”
